Javea Golf Course was designed by Francisco Moreno and opened in 1981. Located 100 kilometers from Alicante on the way to Valencia, and sheltered from the wind by Cape San Antonio, the course has a perfect microclimate all year round, and is located in a wonderful natural setting, surrounded by pine forests.
The course is a gently sloping 9-hole course with well-groomed greens and fairways flanked by palm trees, pines and orange trees. Although it has only 9 holes, the second time around or nine times, many holes are played from different tees, making it an 18-hole course. In addition, the 4th / 13th green is large enough to accommodate two separate pin positions for each hole.
The 6th presents difficulties, one par 4 with splendid views from a green plateau requiring a safe and precise driving towards the dogleg. The 16th of 120 meters is the shortest hole and the 5th of 475 meters is the longest.
Although it is not very long, it is certainly difficult because it is undermined by bunkers almost all round – 34 in total, and all the greens have subtle passages, many of which are difficult to read.
