Golf Course Characteristics in Istanbul Turkey
Despite its huge population and one of the oldest golf clubs in Europe, Istanbul has only 2 active golf clubs. There was a 9-hole course that was closed. Two others have 18 holes. All are members of the Turkish Golf Association and organize national and international tournaments.

The Kemer Golf Club is 30 minutes from the city center, in the Kemerburgaz district, near the Belgrade Forest. This 18-hole par 73 championship golf course has been designed to USGA standards and takes into account the beauty of the forest area. The clubhouse and its facilities are excellent. Private golf lessons are also possible. The course is part of a private club but non-members are also invited to play for a green fee.

Klassis Golf & Country Club is located in Silivri, just over an hour’s drive from the city center and offers a wide variety of sports, including a hotel in its park. It is the first international 18-hole PGA club in Turkey. The par 73 courses have a total length of 6,245 meters (6,830 yards) that are carved through the surrounding countryside with a good mix of golf holes. It also has a 9-hole course with a par 27 for amateurs, and golfers can play the course by paying a green fee.

Istanbul Golf Club was the oldest golf club in Turkey and the 4th oldest in Europe. It had a 9-hole course and was popular with locals and foreign residents because of its proximity to many large residential neighborhoods allowing golfers to play both lunchtime and evening, it was located between Yeni Levent neighborhoods and Maslak. The route by 65 hosts many open clubs and tournaments and has a very active social section. There was a comfortable clubhouse.
