Tips And Drills To Improve Your Golf Game

You will find on this page some golf tips to improve and perfect your swing. We advise you below some exercises; Try to put them into practice. Some of them will be very beneficial for your game. We offer you more complete golf courses for groups in the technical Booklets section.

°°The autostop position
The grip has a lot of importance in running your golf swing. A good image to keep in mind is the position of the hitchhiker. When you are running a backswing, look at your right hand (for right-handed people) back when the club is at the level of your waist; You should see your thumb pointing to the sky.
°°A break at the top°°
Running a golf swing too quickly is part of the golfer’s recurring mistakes. If it is necessary to give power and an acceleration to the ball, the important thing is to create and maintain a good rhythm. The best way to achieve this is to imagine a brief pause when you are at the top of your backswing, before you go back down. You’ll synchronize the movements better and improve your tempo … your ball will arrive more often in the middle of the fairway.
°°A straight knee as hard as stone°°
During the backswing, it is necessary to put weight inside the right foot (for a right-handed) and to bend the knee slightly. If your weight is poorly distributed, the result will be a bad ball contact and a loss of power. Imagine that when the club climbs, your right knee is as solid as a wall. This will allow the upper part of your body to perform an aggressive transfer, thus giving your ball a maximum of power.
°°Get a muscle!°°
Golf is not a game of wrists. In order to achieve a good swing, you have to use the muscles of your legs and the upper part of your body. The instinct of beginner golfers is often to hit the ball only with arms and wrists. This will certainly make good shots from time to time but if you want to become regular, then you will have to use the whole body, and not only a part. Get a muscle!
°°Wing gently in the wind°°
Too many players think you have to hit the ball aggressively in the presence of wind. By doing this, they put more effect to the ball which becomes uncontrollable. The more the ball takes air, the more it will be influenced by the wind. The solution here is to opt for a low trajectory by placing the ball on the back foot and advancing the hands. This way the angle of the club is reduced, and the ball will go more horizontally. Use a longer club, and type quietly without too much effort.
°°Strengthen the foundation of your swing°°
A swing consist requires a good pace and a good balance. A house needs foundations, just like your swing. Practice hitting the ball with the feet very close together (as shown in the picture), about 15 cm. This will force you to maintain a good balance and a good rhythm and you will feel the difference when you spread your feet again.
°°Stop hitting the ball, cross it!°°
The crossing of the ball is a key element in the execution of a swing both powerful and regular. It is very important to continue the crossing after the ball has been hit. Here is a small exercise that will allow you to master this: put a tee 20 cm after the ball and practice to hit the ball, then the tee in stride. You will then make a good crossing.
°°Don’t forget the practice area°°
The first reflex of a pro golfer before starting a competition is to go to the practice area. Also develop this habit. The practice is not used to type balls with the best possible contact but rather to warm up the muscles and to return to the cadence. Any high-level sportsman will stretch before embarking on an effort, and the practice acts as a stretch for golf. Start with a wedge and finish with the driver. Retype some wedges all at the end and you will gain in rhythm.
