From 100 years till today, a strong relation between golf and Morocco has been created. A dozen new golf courses

Morocco intends to put on its shores a large green coat by 2020. Seven new golf courses will be born on the Mediterranean coast, along with the emergence of large-scale tourist complexes, particularly in the regions of Larache, Tetouan, Nador and Saïdia.

The golf offer on the Mediterranean coast will be expanded, making this region a golf destination in its own right. The Royal Golf Tangier, the oldest in Morocco, was inaugurated in 1914. This 18-hole course designed by the architects Cotton and Pennink has been modernized since then, while maintaining a strong British footprint. At this prestigious golf will be added golf Al Houara.

protection of the environment is a major challenge for the Kingdom, Morocco is firmly committed to putting in place all the measures aimed at promoting the preservation of its natural assets and more particularly its water resources. Thus, Agadir was the first tourist destination of the Kingdom to set up the connection of its golf courses and green spaces to the new sewage treatment plant of M’zar, located in Besergao south of Agadir and adjacent to the Golf of the ocean.

Marrakech, the first tourist hub of the Kingdom, was given in 2011 a purification plant, aiming to connect the golf courses and golf projects of the city to a pipeline network of more than 80 km.

These two pilot stations at national and continental level are therefore part of a policy of the Kingdom of Morocco for the protection of the environment, the sustainable development of these two cities and a harmonious evolution of their golf offer.

The Hassan II Trophy has quickly become a must-see event for professionals and golf enthusiasts who want to test their game. The most prestigious players in the world, Billy Casper Santiago Luna, Payne Stewart, Colin Montgomerie, Vijay Singh … have left their mark.
